Daskalopoulos Donates 51 Works to Four Museums in Greece and Scotland
Dimitris Daskalopoulos, a prominent Greek art collector, is donating 51 contemporary artworks, primarily from Greek creators, to four museums in Greece and Scotland. The National Gallery of Greece in Athens will get 29 of these pieces. Other beneficiaries include the Momus-Museum of Contemporary Art in Thessaloniki, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Crete, and National Galleries Scotland in Edinburgh. This collection features works from the 1960s to the 1990s by well-known artists like Io Angeli and Bruce Nauman. Daskalopoulos, who established Damma Holdings and the Neon foundation, has chosen not to claim any tax deductions for this gift. He has already contributed over 350 artworks to institutions such as Tate and Guggenheim New York, emphasizing the value of engaging with art.
