DARP Architects Transform 20-Year-Old Prefabricated Mountain House into Permanent Residence
Architecture firm DARP - De Arquitectura y Paisaje has completed a renovation project converting a two-decade-old prefabricated wooden mountain house from temporary occupancy to permanent living. The 220 m² transformation, scheduled for completion in 2025, fundamentally reinterprets the structure's spatial, construction, and environmental systems. Led by architects Jaime Cabal and Jorge Buitrago, the project team included designers Steven Rios, Samuel Acevedo, and Sebastián Aguirre. Construction was managed by Almalop Construcción, with engineering and consulting services provided by CAF Vidrios y Aluminio. Photography documenting the project was handled by Mauricio Carvajal, while Valentina Díaz served as curator. The rehabilitation represents more than functional updates, addressing contemporary living patterns through comprehensive architectural reconsideration.
