Dar Ahlam's 25th Anniversary Approaches with Bee Installation, Book, and Immersive Residency
In Morocco's Skoura palm grove, Thierry Teyssier, a former theater producer from France who became a hotelier, transformed a 200-year-old kasbah into Dar Ahlam, a compound featuring 14 suites spread across five acres at an elevation of 4,300 feet. The property lacks a traditional reception, restaurant, or room keys, and its grounds, designed by Louis Benech, showcase 450 vegetarian recipes. Dining is offered in various settings, while the suites boast tadelakt walls and seasonal textiles. In September 2025, artist Olivier Darné launched La Maison du Ciel, a six-room space dedicated to bees. Employing 120 staff, Dar Ahlam aims for 65% revenue autonomy from the Food Lab and will mark its 25th anniversary in 2027. Teyssier is also involved in restoring Tizkmoudine and conceptualizing a wandering hotel.
