Daniel Steegmann Mangrané's São Paulo exhibition explores Amazonian cosmology through mixed media

Daniel Steegmann Mangrané presents his first São Paulo exhibition since 2018 at Mendes Wood DM, titled 'Uma folha translúcida no lugar dos olhos' [A Translucent leaf instead of the Eyes]. The show features paintings, sculptures, and holograms that examine connections between living forms, materials, and geometric patterns. Steegmann Mangrané's background includes an early interest in biology, which evolved into artistic explorations of nature after visiting the Amazon Rainforest and Brazil's Atlantic Forest. His work engages with Indigenous cosmologies and their relational approaches to the environment. The exhibition functions as a lens for observing cosmic interconnections while altering perceptual frameworks.
