Dan Levy, co-creator of 'Schitt's Creek,' has developed a new Netflix series titled 'Big Mistakes,' set to premiere on April 9. The show centers on a dysfunctional family consisting of siblings Nicky (played by Levy), Morgan (Taylor Ortega), Natalie (Abby Quinn), and their mother Linda (Laurie Metcalf). The narrative begins with a hospital scene involving the death of Linda's mother and rapidly escalates when Nicky and Morgan become entangled with organized criminals. Levy created the series with Rachel Sennott, aiming to examine family relationships, generational trauma, and comedic elements within high-stress situations. The project marks Levy's return to television after a six-year hiatus, during which he sought to develop a story with substantial narrative potential. In late March, Levy, Metcalf, and Ortega participated in a discussion at Netflix's New York offices, reflecting on the production process. Levy emphasized the importance of cast chemistry and a collaborative environment, noting that Ortega was the first and last actor to audition for her role.
