Dalí Museum Secures Artist's Most Expansive Creation: A Surrealist Ballet Backdrop

The Dalí Museum in St. Petersburg, Florida, has acquired Salvador Dalí's largest work, a theatrical set piece titled Décor de théâtre pour Bacchanale, created in 1939. This monumental backdrop, measuring over 20 meters in height and 30 meters in width, was originally designed for the Surrealist ballet Bacchanale, choreographed by Léonide Massine for the Ballets Russes. The museum obtained the piece through an auction, as reported by Artnet, enhancing its collection with a significant historical artifact from Dalí's career.
