Cyanotype, Memory, and Learning: Elizabeth Lee's Photobook

Elizabeth Lee, a photographer, researcher, and professor, has created "Fotográfico," a photobook and cyanotype manual selected in the 2025 Photobook Call. The work explores the material dimension of images through physical and experimental processes, using objects, films, and equipment that reference history and technique, emphasizing the tactile and sensory potential of photography. In an interview with researchers Gabryella Roque and Laura Sapucaia, Lee discusses her artistic trajectory, how family experiences shaped her work, and the creation process of the photobook. Roque (born 2001, São Paulo, SP) is a designer, researcher, and undergraduate student at the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of USP; in 2025 she joined the ZUM Magazine team as an intern. Sapucaia (born 2002, São Paulo, SP) is a researcher, educator, and undergraduate student in Visual Arts at ECA-USP; since 2024 she has been an intern in the Contemporary Art team at IMS.
