Culk's New Album 'Smogstar' Brings Lighter Tone to Dark Pop

Vienna-based dark pop band Culk will release their new album 'Smogstar' on September 4 via Siluh Records, marking their fourth album with the label. The album aims for a lighter atmosphere compared to their earlier work, with frontwoman Sophie Löw describing the lyrics as 'more light-footed' and capturing a vibe between feeling free and being lost. The band collaborated with musician Sophie Lindinger (My Ugly Clementine, Leyya) on recordings and production. Six days after the album release, Culk will embark on a live tour across Germany and Austria. Pre-release singles include 'Twenty, Eighteen', 'Kaputte Speaker', and 'Weiß nur wer ich nicht bin'. The band debuted in 2018 with the single 'Begierde/Scham' and is known for strong lyrics and dark instrumental backdrops.
