Cruces and Gagliardi Merge Landscapes at Ferme-Asile

At La Grange de la Ferme-Asile in Sion, Switzerland, Adam Cruces and Louisa Gagliardi unveil their collaborative exhibition titled 'MERGERS AND ACQUISITIONS.' This showcase metaphorically examines the interplay between humanity and the landscape. Cruces' works, featuring oversized transparent straw bales and a bronze scythe, subvert traditional notions of size and purpose. His video piece 'Translation,' shot in Valais, showcases a figure clad in a ghillie suit. Meanwhile, Gagliardi's digital artworks on PVC illustrate agricultural and industrial machinery in a cinematic gray frieze, with a strikingly monumental tractor that evokes both playfulness and menace. The exhibition is housed in a repurposed hay barn, where the building's agricultural heritage contrasts sharply with the stark artificial lighting. Both artists challenge viewers' perceptions through scale and artifice.
