Cosimo Pintore, a 47-year-old from Formia, has authored a book titled '#zitaontheroad – Storie di viaggi a sei zampe e due ruote' documenting his motorcycle journeys across Italy and Europe with his dachshund Zita. The publication serves as a travel diary combining photographs and narratives from their expeditions, which began with short scooter trips before progressing to longer motorcycle tours. Zita travels securely in a carrier mounted on the fuel tank, equipped with protective goggles. Their adventures include trips through central and northern Italy, followed by an international journey to the Balkans in summer 2019. Pintore describes their relationship as special rather than obsessive, emphasizing that traveling with his dog enhances rather than limits his experiences. The book offers practical advice for motorcyclists wishing to travel with pets, including transportation tips and assessments of pet-friendly locations. Proceeds from sales are reportedly directed toward combating dog abandonment. Although pandemic restrictions disrupted planned activities like participation in Rome's 'Motodays' event, Pintore has announced a sequel detailing their 2020 solo camping trip through Spain.
