Contemporary Georgian Garden to debut at No.1 Royal Crescent Museum

A permanent Contemporary Georgian Garden will be installed at the No.1 Royal Crescent museum in Bath later this year. Designed with landscape architects Grant Associates, the garden transforms an underused courtyard into a pocket 'landscape of Bath' using container planting inspired by Charles Babington's Flora Bathoniensis (1834). It includes a new stone bench and will become part of the main visitor route, introducing a narrative around native plant species recorded in the historic text. The garden aims to enhance the visitor experience and provide a serene space to enjoy the iconic architecture of the Royal Crescent.
