Confluencias Returns for an 11th Edition Centering Food, Sustainability and Territory
The 11th edition of Confluencias, a cultural residency initiative organized by Fundación Santander Creativa (FSC) in Santander, will emphasize hybridization in its 2026 program. Since 2016, Carmen Quijano has been at the helm of this initiative, promoting collaboration among local artists and cultural professionals. The program commenced with Alba Colomo's residency on July 2-3, where she engaged with local artists at Artesantander and Atropar. Carolina Ciuti's residency is scheduled for October 20-22, featuring a breakfast event on October 22. Iria do Castelo will conduct a workshop on October 23-24. Javier Martínez Jiménez is set to return on November 18-19, with a follow-up meeting on November 20. A residency at Castelo Studio will take place from November 9-27, culminating in an Open Studio on November 28. In December, the Fábrica de Creación will unveil the second Cuaderno Confluencias. Néstor del Barrio and Blanca Tejerina have been chosen by AAVCA to create the design for the 2026 Confluencias bag.
