Coinbase Unveils SEC-Registered AI Advisor and 21 New Products in System Update

ai-technology · 2026-06-18

On June 16, Coinbase unveiled its most extensive product launch to date, termed the "System Update," which features 21 new products and enhancements spanning trading, lending, payments, and on-chain infrastructure. A key highlight is Coinbase Advisor, an SEC-registered AI investment tool available initially to Coinbase One members in the U.S., offering tailored multi-asset suggestions without the ability to execute trades. Additionally, Coinbase is merging its U.S. spot exchange with international derivatives to create a global liquidity pool, asserting itself as the first CFTC-approved exchange for regulated global crypto derivatives. The update also broadens the range of tradable assets and includes a collaboration with Better for Bitcoin-backed mortgages. Coinbase commenced stock trading in December 2025 and introduced commission-free U.S. stock trading in February 2026.
