CM Design's Jinyi Landmark Transforms Tianjin Factory Site into Mixed-Use Hub

CM Design has completed the Jinyi Landmark project, a retail development in Tianjin that repurposes the former Tianjin First Machine Tool Factory site. Curated by Han Shuang, the 809-square-meter architecture preserves industrial heritage while introducing diverse commercial functions. Completed in 2025, the project transforms the location into a dynamic center for emerging industries and cultural tourism. The design team included Chen Danping, Qiu Chen, Zhu Liyin, Wang Zhen, Kuang Ranran, and Yao Mingming. Construction was handled by China MCC20 Group Co., Ltd., with landscape design by Shenzhen Aoya Design Co., Ltd. Client Tianjin TEDA Rongyu Urban Renewal Construction Development Co., Ltd commissioned the initiative as part of Tianjin's urban renewal efforts. Photographers Guowei Liu and Weiqi Jin documented the completed project. This development exemplifies how industrial sites can be revitalized to serve contemporary urban needs while maintaining historical character.
