Claudia Fontes Awarded 2026 Brookfield Properties and AWITA Commission for Glasshouse Stories Installation

exhibition · 2026-03-25

Claudia Fontes has been selected for the 2026 Brookfield Properties and AWITA commission to present her exhibition Glasshouse Stories at 100 Bishopsgate in London. The Brighton-based artist will transform the building's reception area into a speculative conservatory featuring sculptures derived from 3D scans of plants at Kew Gardens. Her proposal was chosen from over 60 submissions addressing the theme of creating space for pause and possibility. The exhibition includes major works titled Choir and Hip, exploring themes of displacement and plant intelligence. Curated by Gabriela Salgado, the show runs from March 2026 to January 2027 and continues a partnership focused on increasing representation of women in public sculpture commissions.
