Claudia Claremi's Colonial Memory Films at DA2 Salamanca

The second installment of Visiones Contemporáneas 2026 at DA2 Salamanca, in collaboration with Playtime Audiovisuales, highlights the work of Spanish-Cuban artist Claudia Claremi. Her artistic practice encompasses video, installation, analog film, photography, performance, and archival research, with an emphasis on themes of colonial memory and identity. The exhibition features two significant pieces: "Amnesia Colonial" (2021-2026, 35 min), a tripartite film essay addressing structural racism, and "Roots of Support" (2026, 20 min), a Super-8 series exploring diasporic trees. Born in Madrid in 1986, Claremi studied at EICTV Cuba and the University of the Arts London. Her works have been showcased at CVA Denver, MAMM Medellín, and Museo Reina Sofía. This marks her inaugural exhibition in Salamanca, which will be open until October 4, 2026.
