Clara Rivault's monumental stained glass marks five years of Les Franciscaines in Deauville
Les Franciscaines, a cultural venue in Deauville that was once a convent, marks its fifth anniversary with the unveiling of its inaugural permanent installation: a grand stained glass window by Clara Rivault, which was inaugurated on May 13, 2026. The artwork, named "Ceux qui traversent," is a two-sided piece positioned above the entrance of the Grande Galerie. It draws inspiration from the building's spiritual past while fostering a connection between historical heritage and modern artistry. Clara Rivault, an alumna of the École supérieure des beaux-arts de Montpellier and La Cambre, is recognized for her innovative blend of traditional stained glass methods and photographic techniques. The Deauville project captures the essence of the site through glass photographic transfers and the interplay of light. The architectural restoration was carried out by Alain Moatti.
