Christopher Nolan's forthcoming movie 'The Odyssey' marks a milestone as it is entirely filmed in IMAX, fulfilling a long-held aspiration of the director. Previously, the noise from IMAX cameras posed challenges, but a specially designed 'blimp' resolved this, enabling quiet, intimate scenes. The production utilized over two million feet of 65mm Kodak film, amounting to approximately $3 million, with an overall budget of $250 million. IMAX 70mm tickets sold out rapidly, with resale prices reaching as high as $1,500. Additionally, a limited-edition popcorn bucket resembling an IMAX camera quickly disappeared from shelves. Stars including Matt Damon, Zendaya, and Anne Hathaway, along with cinematographer Hoyte Van Hoytema, lauded the format, with Damon calling it the pinnacle of his career. Nolan referred to the blimp as a 'game-changer' for capturing subtle moments. IMAX and Universal Pictures released a featurette showcasing the film.
