Christophe Gaillard to Open First Asian Gallery in Bangkok Kunsthalle in March 2027
Galerie Christophe Gaillard will open its first Asian space in March 2027, occupying an entire floor of roughly 300 square meters inside the Bangkok Kunsthalle in the historic Chinatown district. The opening coincides with the gallery's twentieth anniversary. Founded in 2007, the Paris-based gallery moved to the Marais in 2015, inaugurated La Résidence – Le Tremblay in Normandy in 2020, opened in Brussels in September 2023, and added L'Usine in Normandy in 2024, a facility with a showroom, a workshop for producing monumental works, and storage. The Bangkok Kunsthalle was founded in 2024 by patron Marisa Chearavanont and is directed by Stefano Rabolli Pansera; it occupies a former publishing complex converted into a contemporary art center. The gallery will maintain a program independent of the institution's while sharing the address. The inaugural exhibition is a group show pairing gallery artists, including Hélène Delprat and Richard Nonas, with artists from various Asian contexts. The gallery previously presented a monographic project on Delprat in the Kabinett section at Art Basel Hong Kong 2026. Gaillard told The Art Newspaper France that he wants to contribute to a cultural ecosystem still taking shape.
