Christine Tien Wang and Rachel Youn Explore Digital Decay and Mechanical Futility in Factory Doomscroll at Night Gallery

From February 24 to April 4, 2026, Night Gallery in Los Angeles will showcase Factory Doomscroll, a dual-artist exhibition featuring Christine Tien Wang and Rachel Youn. The opening coincides with Frieze L.A. Wang's expansive acrylic works illustrate outdated internet memes, such as AI Luigi Angel (2025) and The Loser (2025). In contrast, Youn transforms wellness apparatus into dynamic sculptures, including CLEANSE (I'll do it myself) (2024) and No Pain No Gain (2025). Both creators tackle the theme of planned obsolescence within the realms of digital and physical comfort, examining the disconnect between utility and performance. Photography documentation will feature contributions from Chris Grunder, Nik Massey, and Marten Elder, along with portraits by Shao-Feng Hsu and Jarod Lew.
