Christie's Closes Record-Breaking Jim Irsay Collection Auction Series

Christie's concluded the Jim Irsay Collection Auction Series, the largest memorabilia sale series in history, with the final auction "The Jim Irsay Collection: Icons of History." The series comprised five auctions, selling 404 lots, setting nearly 30 records, and achieving a total of $105,266,766—the highest sale total ever for memorabilia. The final lot was the original working manuscript of Alcoholics Anonymous, known as the "Big Book," which sold for $2,393,000 to Stepping Stones Foundation, the nonprofit that manages the historic home of co-author Bill Wilson. The auction marked the 250th anniversary of the United States.
