Chinese AI Models Generate 10% of OpenAI and Anthropic Revenue, Rhodium Group Finds
A report from the Rhodium Group, released on Thursday, revealed that seven major AI firms in China brought in around $10.7 billion in annual recurring revenue (ARR) between March and August. This figure represents roughly 10% of the combined revenue exceeding $100 billion generated by OpenAI and Anthropic. ByteDance led the group with an impressive $4 billion in ARR as of July, while Alibaba followed closely with $2.4 billion reported in August. The analysis covered companies like DeepSeek, Moonshot AI, Z.ai, MiniMax, Alibaba Group Holding, ByteDance, and Kuaishou Technology, which is recognized for its Kling AI video generator.
