China launches first AI-powered cancer vaccine production line in Beijing

In Beijing, Likang Life Sciences has initiated the construction of China's inaugural production line dedicated to AI-assisted personalized tumor vaccines. This facility will feature research laboratories focused on cell therapy and will manufacture LK101, a tailored cancer vaccine that leverages AI to examine individual tumor DNA and pinpoint the specific genetic mutations fueling the illness. The company asserts that this AI-driven process can be finalized within a single day. This initiative aligns with a worldwide trend towards integrating AI in the pharmaceutical sector, impacting drug discovery, clinical trials, data analysis, and medical documentation. Grace Wang from L.E.K. Consulting highlighted these developments in a video released in June. Bank of America anticipates that the global AI healthcare market may surpass US$1 trillion by 2035, although senior research analyst Alec Stranahan remarked in a note dated January 21 that the current adoption is still in its early stages. Cancer ranks as the second leading cause of death in China.
