Children's Book Celebrates Chef Manon Fleury's Journey

A new children's book, "Manon Fleury, une cheffe pas comme les autres," chronicles the inspiring career of Michelin-starred chef Manon Fleury, from her rigorous schooling and athletic pursuits to her rise as a prominent culinary figure in Paris. Written by Anne-Fleur Multon and illustrated by Lola Penicaud, the book is published by Sens dessus dessous and aims to make Fleury's story accessible to young readers. The narrative highlights her demanding yet attentive leadership style in the kitchen, set against an industry historically plagued by abuse. Fleury, along with Multon and Penicaud, discussed the book on RFI's program "Sur le pont des arts" with host Nathalie Amar. The book is available now, and Fleury's cuisine can be experienced at her Paris restaurant, Datil. The RFI segment also featured a separate interview with author Caryl Ferey about his novel "Lakota" (Série noire, Gallimard), a polar-western set against the 250th anniversary of US independence, addressing the trafficking of young Indigenous women to Mexico.
