Charli XCX has released a new album titled 'Music, Fashion, Film', just months after her era-defining record 'Brat'. The 11-track album was written in weeks after inspiration struck during a planned break. It features a guitar-based sound but is not a rock album, as Charli clarified on Instagram. The cover art is a black-and-white photo of John Cale, Marc Jacobs, and Martin Scorsese, taken by Aidan Zamiri. The album addresses the physical toll of her Brat tour, including nerve damage, and explores tensions between public persona and private life. Minimalist tracks like 'Yeah' repeat phrases for effect. The album closes with an excerpt of a conversation with David Cronenberg about artistic legacy. Charli also wrote the soundtrack for Emerald Fennell's 'Wuthering Heights' adaptation and married George Daniel.
