Chalisée Naamani’s ‘Octogone’ at Kunst Halle Sankt Gallen

Chalisée Naamani, a French-Iranian artist, showcases her inaugural solo exhibition titled ‘Octogone’ at Kunst Halle Sankt Gallen in Switzerland. This exhibition includes textile art, sculptures, prints, and installations designed for the specific space, all of which investigate clothing as a medium for memory, resistance, and cultural identity. Naamani's creations, known as vêtements-images, are sculptural “image garments” that are not intended for wear, combining fabrics, archival images, embroidery, and repurposed materials. These pieces intertwine themes from global protest movements, Persian and Christian symbolism, popular culture, brand identities, and personal narratives. The title ‘Octogone’ alludes to the Zurkhaneh, the traditional Iranian “House of Strength,” symbolizing cultural endurance. The exhibition, produced in partnership with Palais de Tokyo, Paris, and Kunsthalle Wien, is open until 13 September 2026.
