Cézanne's Complexity Explored in Major Fondation Beyeler Exhibition

On the 120th anniversary of his death, Fondation Beyeler in Basel presents its first-ever exhibition dedicated to Paul Cézanne, curated by Ulf Küster. The show features 80 works—58 paintings and 21 watercolors—from Swiss, German, French, British, Dutch, Spanish, Danish, and American collections. Subjects include portraits, bathers, still lifes, landscapes, and nine versions of Mont Sainte-Victoire. Rare loans include two versions of 'The Card Players' from the Courtauld Gallery and Musée d'Orsay, and a self-portrait from 1895. The exhibition runs until May 25, 2026, accompanied by a catalog from Hatje Cantz Verlag.
