Cavern Club and Magical Mystery Tour Sold to 14 Collective After 35 Years
On 8 October 2026, 14 Collective announced its acquisition of Liverpool's Cavern Club and Magical Mystery Tour, concluding a 35-year tenure under Cavern City Tours. The deal also encompasses the Cavern Pub and Restaurant. Julia Baird, John Lennon’s sister, shared her mixed feelings of sadness and hope regarding the club's future. The original Cavern hosted The Beatles for 292 performances between 1961 and 1963 before closing in 1973; a replica opened in 1984, drawing in a million visitors each year. Bill Heckle, managing director and co-founder of Cavern City Tours in 1983, described the sale as an emotional yet essential step toward retirement. 14 Collective intends to preserve the Cavern's heritage with the current management.
