Cauleen Smith's First Major African Exhibition at Zeitz MOCAA
Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa in Cape Town is hosting a survey exhibition titled 'Afflict the Comfortable, Comfort the Afflicted' by African-American artist Cauleen Smith, curated by Thato Mogotsi. Opening on November 20, 2025, and running until October 4, 2026, this marks Smith's inaugural major showcase on the African continent. The multidisciplinary presentation features experimental films, installations, and sonic works exploring Black cinematic traditions, identities, and utopian possibilities.
