Cattelan's Suspended Horse Novecento Released as €1,500 Miniature Edition by Avant Arte
Avant Arte has collaborated with Maurizio Cattelan to create a scaled-down edition of Novecento, the taxidermied horse from 1997, which now measures 25 × 23.8 × 9.5 cm. This limited release consists of 1,000 individually numbered pieces, each priced at 1,500 euros and crafted from hand-painted resin, mirroring the original's suspension mechanism. A signed certificate by Cattelan accompanies each piece. The original artwork, housed in the Castello di Rivoli collection, offers a critique of traditional equestrian sculptures. Additionally, a miniature version of Not Afraid of Love is also offered. Interested buyers must register for a lottery to purchase, with the registration deadline for Novecento set for 15 October 2026, and shipping anticipated between February and June 2027.
