Cate Blanchett appointed visiting professor at Oxford

Cate Blanchett will serve as the Cameron Mackintosh Visiting Professor of Contemporary Theatre at St Catherine's College, University of Oxford, for the 2026/27 academic year. The two-time Oscar-winning actress will teach contemporary theatre, deliver lectures, and engage with students and the wider university community. The visiting professorship was established in 1990; previous incumbents include Sir Ian McKellen, Dame Meera Syal, and Dame Diana Rigg. Blanchett described the appointment as an 'electrifying opportunity' for creative dialogue with the next generation.
