Castlefield Gallery and Pipeline Launch First National Collaboration with Disc Unknown

Castlefield Gallery in Manchester and Pipeline in London have formed their first national collaboration, uniting to amplify emerging artists. The partnership offers Castlefield Gallery Associates—an artist-development membership scheme—a rare opportunity to exhibit at both venues, timed to coincide with London Gallery Weekend. The inaugural exhibition, Disc Unknown, features O’Rourke’s DVD-case paintings alongside larger mixed-media works, including wall-based and freestanding pieces that guide viewers through recurring motifs, images, text, and materials. O’Rourke’s practice draws inspiration from everyday happenstance, such as overheard conversations, bus window observations, or found objects. Living in Manchester has shaped the artist’s perspective, infusing the work with regional character. This collaboration bridges regional practice and national visibility, strengthening connections between the two cities’ art scenes.
