Castello di Rivoli Unveils Major Collection Overhaul and New Commissions
Castello di Rivoli Museo d’Arte Contemporanea has announced a comprehensive reimagining of its public collection through new commissions, acquisitions, and reinstallations. The autumn season introduces the third edition of Inserzioni, a commissioning program curated by director Francesco Manacorda, featuring site-specific works by Haris Epaminonda, Christelle Oyiri, and Sung Tieu. Concurrently, a major reinstallation of Arte Povera works will debut in July 2026, with dedicated spaces for Giovanni Anselmo, Alighiero Boetti, Pier Paolo Calzolari, Piero Gilardi, Jannis Kounellis, Mario Merz, Giuseppe Penone, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Gilberto Zorio, and Emilio Prini (from October 2026). A new room for Carol Rama opens in October 2026. A two-act installation by Giulio Paolini, curated by Marcella Beccaria and Andrea Viliani, honors collector Gino Viliani. The educational project Il Castello Incantato returns in September 2026 with works by John Baldessari, William Kentridge, Otobong Nkanga, Paola Pivi, Peter Friedl, and Rivane Neuenschwander, plus a tribute to the late Remo Salvadori. The Premio Piero Siena 2026 winners Stefano Bernardi and Samira Mosca are exhibited from September 25. President Francesca Lavazza emphasized the museum's role in keeping the collection alive and responsive to contemporary questions.
