Casa Puesta del Sol: Interior Design Integrating Pacific Coast Environment in Nayarit

Casa Puesta del Sol is a vacation residence in Chacala, Nayarit, Mexico, designed by Kenya Rodriguez Estudio in collaboration with JDEstudio. Completed in 2024, the 54-square-meter project emphasizes a sensory connection to its coastal setting through material choices and spatial design. The interior scheme uses textiles, surfaces, and artisanal details to evoke the local sand, vegetation, and warmth, creating a contemplative domestic experience. The house features a terrace and pool area that extend living spaces toward the landscape. This project is highlighted in the 87th edition of Glocal Design Magazine, which focuses on regional identity and ethical design approaches in Mexican architecture for 2025.
