Casa Italia at Paris 2024 Olympics: A Villa Filled with Contemporary Art

Casa Italia, the official hospitality venue for Italian athletes and teams at the Paris 2024 Olympics, will be housed in Le Pré Catelan, a Napoleon III-style villa in the Bois de Boulogne near the Champs-Élysées. Open from July 26 to August 11, it was inaugurated by Italian President Sergio Mattarella. The venue features works by 19 prominent Italian artists and collectives, including Vincenzo Agnetti, Giovanni Bonotto, Claire Fontaine, and Marinella Senatore, curated by Lorenzo Pellicelli and Beatrice Bertini, with Benedetta Acciari co-curating the exhibition path. The design also incorporates creations by 32 international designers for 11 Italian brands, such as B&B Italia, Flos, and Moroso, with lighting by architecture studio IT’S. The concept, titled 'Ensemble,' emphasizes Italian 20th-century creativity and sustainability. The Celebration Room, an amphitheater-like space with screens, will host victory celebrations. The building itself hosted the 1894 dinner that led to the modern Olympic Games.
