CARNE Studio Designs LOLO Taco Bar in Madrid with Industrial Aesthetics
The design firm CARNE has created the interior for LOLO Taco Bar, a new Mexican restaurant located at Paseo de la Castellana 23 in Madrid. The project, led by chef Jorge Bustamante and backed by Manuel Álvarez, aims to reinterpret traditional Mexican taquería codes through a contemporary urban lens dubbed 'MAD MEX'. The 112-square-meter space features industrial materials like microcement and stainless steel furniture, contrasted with a vibrant electric blue epoxy resin floor in a dedicated 'Blue Room'. The design intentionally incorporates found historical tile fragments and hand-painted graphic elements to blend raw materiality with cultural identity.
