Canada selects German firm TKMS for new submarine fleet

Canada has chosen German company ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems (TKMS) over South Korea's Hanwha Ocean to build its new submarine fleet, a deal worth billions. The decision, announced by Prime Minister Mark Carney in Halifax, is expected to strengthen ties with NATO. Carney noted that Canada and South Korea will continue cooperation in other areas.
