Cambi Casa d’Aste Old Masters Sale Features 221 Works from Renaissance to Vedutismo

Cambi Casa d’Aste will hold an Old Masters auction on July 2 at Castello Mackenzie in Genoa, offering 221 works of Italian and European graphic art and painting from the 16th to early 19th centuries. The sale spans schools from Venetian to Emilian, Caravaggesque naturalism to Roman vedutismo, and Flemish and Nordic traditions. The top lot is Pietro Paolini's "Banchetto musicale" (lot 174), an oil on canvas estimated at €100,000–150,000, reflecting Caravaggesque influence and moral allegories. Vedutismo highlights include Carlo Bossoli's "Vedute di Istanbul" (€60,000–70,000), Jacob van Lint's "Veduta di Piazza del Popolo a Roma" (€45,000–50,000), and two Francesco Tironi works: "Veduta del Canal Grande a Venezia" (€35,000–40,000) and "Veduta di Piazza San Marco a Venezia" (€25,000–30,000). Jan Gossaert's "Madonna col Bambino" (€35,000–45,000) represents Northern Renaissance, while Luca Giordano's "Rinaldo e Armida" (€30,000–40,000) draws from Torquato Tasso. An "Allegoria della Fertilità" attributed to a late 16th-century Tuscan artist (€25,000–35,000) is described as an enigmatic Mannerist composition. Benvenuto Tisi's "Madonna con Bambino, Sant’Anna e San Giovanni" (€30,000–40,000) shows Giorgione and Dosso Dossi influences.
