Calo Carratalá's Landscape Retrospective Opens at Fundación Bancaja Valencia

Calo Carratalá, a prominent artist from Valencia, is unveiling a retrospective exhibition named "Todo lugar es provisional" at Fundación Bancaja in Valencia, scheduled from April 10 to June 7, 2026. Curated by Marisa Giménez Soler, the showcase comprises nearly forty pieces created over the past fifteen years, featuring three key series along with new works. Carratalá, who studied at Valencia's School of Fine Arts and the Spanish Royal Academy in Rome, focuses on romantic landscapes. His art draws inspiration from Roman frescoes and Italian tondos, employing linear perspective techniques based on Leon Battista Alberti's 1435 principles. The exhibition highlights various media, reflecting his dynamic gestures and atmospheric compositions while emphasizing the importance of protecting nature.
