C-SPAN Deploys Multimedia Journalists to Cover 2026 Midterms

In preparation for the 2026 midterm elections, C-SPAN is placing four emerging multimedia journalists in key battleground states to deliver direct video coverage of competitive races for the House, Senate, and governorships. This initiative, revealed on June 29, seeks to address deficiencies in local political journalism where video resources are scarce. The journalists—Adam S. Hoffman (Princeton University), Kevin Myers (University of Texas at Austin), Micaela Hanson (University of Maryland), and Donovan Hunt (Ohio University)—recently completed their college education and received training from C-SPAN’s technical and editorial teams. C-SPAN plans to broadcast this footage nationwide and provide it free of charge to local, independent, and nonprofit media. The focus will be on elections in states like Maine, New Hampshire, and Texas, with potential expansion based on further funding from partners such as the Andrew Carnegie Foundation and the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation. Additionally, on January 1, 2025, C-SPAN updated its logo to "Democracy Unfiltered," replacing the previous tagline from 2019. CEO Sam Feist emphasized that this new tagline reflects the network's dedication to unbiased government access.
