Busan Museum of Contemporary Art's 'Body, Under Experiment' Unfolds as Sequential Labs

The Busan Museum of Contemporary Art presents 'Body, Under Experiment', an exhibition structured as three monthly activations. Each month, a new laboratory opens, and only when the final one is illuminated does the full exhibition reveal itself. This temporal architecture directly addresses the unresolved tension in performance art: how to exhibit something that exists only in the present. Rather than avoiding this tension, the exhibition makes it structural, with each lab serving as both a trace of past performance and an ongoing event, anticipating the next. The opposition between live and documented is embedded in the exhibition's very form.
