Buffett ends Gates Foundation donations after Epstein revelations
Warren Buffett has ceased his contributions to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, marking the end of a 20-year philanthropic collaboration due to concerns regarding Bill Gates' connections with Jeffrey Epstein. On Tuesday, Buffett revealed he will allocate approximately $6 billion in Berkshire Hathaway stock to four family foundations managed by his children. The 95-year-old chairman of Berkshire did not reference the Gates Foundation, which has benefited from over $47 billion in stock since 2006. During the same timeframe, he contributed more than $17 billion to the family foundations. He plans to donate his remaining shares to these foundations by December 31, 2034. Since the release of Epstein-related documents by the US Department of Justice in February, the two longtime friends have not communicated. Gates, 70, has faced reputational damage but has not been charged with any crimes.
