The acquisition, supported by the Kulturstiftung der Länder with €16,650, includes 27 letters from Thomas Mann to Leibrich, 23 from his wife Katia Mann, and writings from their children Erika and Golo Mann, spanning 1930-1980. Leibrich, a Sorbonne professor and leading Thomas Mann scholar in France, maintained a decades-long exchange with the writer about his works. The materials offer new insights into Mann's life and creative process and will be made accessible for research and public viewing.
