Brun Fine Art Presents Dual Exhibitions at Milan Design Week 2026
During the 2026 Milan Design Week, Brun Fine Art is presenting two major projects exploring the relationship between historical art and contemporary design. The gallery's central exhibition, 'Cagli e il simbolo. Nella contemporaneità materica di ABI,' curated by Alberto Mazzacchera, runs from April 16 to May 15 at their Via Gesù location in Milan. This show juxtaposes works by Italian artist Corrado Cagli with stone objects from the brand ABI, which operates between Cairo and Milan, focusing on the concept of symbols as structural elements rather than mere representations. Cagli's work, particularly from his American period, features analytical signs that interrogate space and perception, including paintings from the 1950s, his famous 'Carte' works, and sculptures. ABI creates functional stone objects described as 'sculptures for use,' with a notable collaboration involving Marmonil to produce a limited edition stone version of a cardboard mask originally by Cagli. Simultaneously, Brun Fine Art is making its debut at the Salone del Mobile within the 'Raritas' section, a new area dedicated to collectible design and limited editions curated by Annalisa Rosso and designed by Formafantasma, located in Pavilion 9, Stand 036 from April 21 to 26. Here, historical pieces are presented in minimalist settings to dialogue directly with contemporary design language. The gallery also has a presence in the Fuorisalone program through various interventions, including the 'Grand Tour' project with La Bottega Collective curated by Campbell-Rey, and collaborations with Alimonti, Giorgetti, and Casa Conte across locations including Via della Spiga, Corso Venezia, and Via Monte Napoleone. These initiatives collectively position historical art as an active, living language capable of engaging with present-day creative practices.
