Bruce Hainley’s ‘Correctomundo’ Collects Two Decades of Aslant Art Criticism

German gallery Clementin Seedorf & CTMS has released a new essay compilation by Bruce Hainley titled ‘Correctomundo: Selected Writings 2001–2026’. This collection features 15 essays spanning the past 25 years, highlighting Hainley’s diverse and lyrical style in art criticism. The opening essay, ‘In a Year of 13 Moons’ (2024), reflects on Rainer Werner Fassbinder’s film. ‘Dear Vince’ (2016) engages with sculptor Vincent Fecteau through shared cultural references. In ‘Urine Sample’ (2002), Hainley interprets Andy Warhol’s Oxidation paintings as life-affirming. Other notable essays include ‘Imitations of Life’ (2001) and ‘One Artillery’ (2005). Previously, Hainley published ‘Under the Sign of [sic]: Sturtevant’s Volte-Face’ (2014) and ‘Pep Talk 5: Bruce Hainley Pep Talk’ (2011). The hardcover, priced at €38, includes Hainley’s acknowledgment of Yvo Cho's request for the book. It appears in the April & May 2026 issue of ArtReview.
