Brooklyn Public Library Launches First Craft Supply Lending Program
On Wednesday, September 9, the Brooklyn Public Library (BPL) launched its first-ever craft supply lending program, featuring 31 rental items like button makers and crochet hooks. Borrowers can enjoy craft kits for three weeks and tools for a week. Adults with a library card can borrow up to three kits and two tools at no cost. Fritzi Bodenheimer noted, "You can borrow without spending any money." One of the exciting items available is the fourth-edition Cricut Maker. Project librarian Jessica Harwick hopes to encourage creativity without financial barriers. This new craft library initiative coincides with the ongoing renovation of the Arts & Music section at the Central Library.
