Bronze version of Ursula von Rydingsvard's sculpture to debut at Dartmouth
Later this summer, Dartmouth's campus will welcome a bronze rendition of Ursula von Rydingsvard's Wide Babelki Bowl (2007). This bronze piece was created from the original cedar sculpture, which Jens and Margarit Jacobs donated to the Hood Museum of Art in 2019 after it had been displayed outdoors at their Woodstock, VT home for nearly ten years. By 2023, the original cedar, a softwood, showed signs of deterioration, leading the museum to consult with von Rydingsvard's studio. The new bronze sculpture will be installed in front of Rollins Chapel, the same location as the original.
