British sitcom star Penelope Keith dies at 86

Penelope Keith, the iconic British actress celebrated for her roles in classic sitcoms such as The Good Life and To the Manor Born, has passed away at 86. Her family confirmed that she succumbed to cancer at her residence in Surrey, UK. Keith's artistic journey began in theater with the Royal Shakespeare Company in 1963, but she gained prominence through her television performances, notably earning a BAFTA in 1977 for her portrayal of Margo Leadbetter. Felicity Kendal, her co-star, described her as a "comic genius." In recognition of her career and philanthropy, she was honored with a damehood in 2014.
