British Art Show 10: Ekow Eshun Curates 'A Chorus of Strangers' in Coventry
The Herbert Art Gallery & Museum, Mead Gallery, and Delia Derbyshire Building in Coventry are hosting the tenth British Art Show, named A Chorus of Strangers, under the curation of Ekow Eshun. This exhibition displays works from 37 artists created over the last five years. Notable pieces include Wicked Game (2025) by Lindsey Mendick, Accounts (2025) by Alex Margo Arden, and Here Is The Brick (2025), a video by Mahtab Hussain and Guy Gunaratne. The theme of Britishness is examined through Joy Gerrard's protest crowd paintings and contributions from Matthew Krishanu, Nnena Kalu, and Dala Nasser. Videos by Melanie Manchot, Liz Johnson Artur, Ufuoma Essi, and Hannah Perry are featured in the Delia Derbyshire Building. However, the review suggests that the exhibition's 'polite fury' falls short of making a strong impact.
