Boomranng Studio Brings "Cosmicpunk" Philosophy to Indian Storytelling

Boomranng, a studio focused on "Cosmicpunk," seeks to reinterpret Indian cultural memory through the lens of retrofuturism and imaginative world-building. The founders, hailing from Mumbai, highlight the dynamic nature of culture, influenced by family narratives and everyday experiences. Their creations aim to envision a future that honors cultural heritage, utilizing symbols and emotions to forge new possibilities. Cosmicpunk delves into alternative realities fueled by curiosity and optimism, challenging conventional ideas of advancement. Influences stem from Mumbai's neighborhoods, local markets, and street culture, as well as comics and international pop culture. Their approach treats South Asian mythology as speculative rather than merely ornamental.
